The Council is an informal forum where businesses and business repre-sentatives with activities in Chile and Denmark can establish a network and where it is possible to meet and exchange ideas and experiences. Membership is open to all businesses and business representatives with an interest in Chilean-Danish commercial relations.
The Council meets 3-4 times a year and relevant guest speakers may be invited. Company visits can be arranged, as well as business-to-business meetings. The members actively run the Council, while the Embassy of Denmark in Santiago acts as secretariat.
Members will receive the publication Focus Denmark and other relevant material. Invitations to special events that may be of interest will be sent to the members and it is possible for members to participate in joint Nordic events arranged by the Nordic Chambers of Commerce/Business Councils.
The membership year runs from 1 September to 31 August. The next meeting will take the form of a company visit and will be held in December.
For previous activities, please see list.The membership fee is CLP 150,000 for 2009/2010 for one person (equivalent to approx. DKK 1,500). The fee covers the cost of the secre-tariat. If a member wishes to invite a relevant non-member to a meeting this has an extra cost of CLP 40,000 (approx. DKK 400). Breakfast or a light lunch when meetings are held at the Embassy is included. In the event that a meeting takes place at another location than at the Embassy, the associated costs will be charged separately, if relevant.
